You end up with annoying cold spots or, even worse, the element burns out way too fast because the air just isn’t moving right. The Balancing Act: Power vs. Volume
Here is the thing about heat flux. It’s all a tug-of-war between voltage, wattage, and the length of the tube. If you cram too much wattage into a tube that’s too short, the filament gets dangerously close to the melting point of the quartz. Not great. We spend our time calibrating the ohms so you hit your target temperature without stressing the glass to its breaking point. Sure, a short, high-wattage tube gets you up to temp fast. But it also puts a lot of pressure on your wiring and power supply. It’s all about finding that sweet spot where it’s fast, but safe.
Quartz That Actually Fits
We use high-purity quartz. Why? Because it lets the IR heat through and doesn’t crack when the temperature swings. If your oven has awkward bends or barely any clearance, we can tweak the tube diameter and the end-caps to make it work. And we don’t stop at the glass. Making it Work in the Real World
One of the best parts about custom tubes is that they’re a lifesaver for legacy machines. If the company that made your oven went out of business twenty years ago, you don’t have to scrap the whole chassis. You just drop in a new tube and keep moving. But a quick heads-up: when you concentrate a lot of heat in a small area, the sockets get hot. Really hot. Just make sure your housing materials can handle the heat, or throw some active cooling on those terminal blocks. You don’t want your connectors melting while you’re not looking.
