Usually, it&amp;rsquo;s because &lt;a href=&#34;https://henruite.com&#34;&gt;water&lt;/a&gt; vapor sneaks into the housing or condensation just sits there on the heating element. It&amp;rsquo;s a mess. That’s why we built our high-output models with specific splash-proof and anti-fog gear.&#xA;&lt;strong&gt;The problem with water and heat&lt;/strong&gt;&#xA;Here is the thing: when rain or steam hits a scorching hot quartz tube, it causes &amp;ldquo;thermal shock.&amp;rdquo; Basically, the tube can&amp;rsquo;t handle the sudden temperature swing and it snaps.&#xA;To stop that, we use sealed gaskets and casings that basically tell water, &amp;ldquo;Go the other way.&amp;rdquo; We spent a lot of time on the angle of the reflector and the IP rating of the junction box. By tilting the chassis just right, the water just slides off the unit instead of &lt;a href=&#34;https://goldisgood.com&#34;&gt;pooling&lt;/a&gt; around the wiring.&#xA;&lt;strong&gt;Why &amp;ldquo;fog&amp;rdquo; is actually a problem&lt;/strong&gt;&#xA;When you see fogging, it’s not just a visibility thing. It&amp;rsquo;s a &lt;a href=&#34;https://o-yate.com&#34;&gt;warning&lt;/a&gt; sign that condensation is settling on the element.&#xA;This creates hotspots. Those hotspots make the material expand unevenly, and eventually, the tube cracks. To fix this, we added a special coating to the housing and reflectors. It lowers the surface tension, so water droplets can&amp;rsquo;t cling to the assembly. They just roll away.&#xA;&lt;strong&gt;One thing to watch out for&lt;/strong&gt;&#xA;Now, there is a trade-off. Because we’ve added all this shielding, the airflow isn&amp;rsquo;t quite as open as a cheap, frame-only heater.&#xA;You&amp;rsquo;ll want to make sure you leave enough breathing room between the heater and your ceiling. If you mount it too tight, the heat gets trapped. Over time, that &amp;ldquo;heat soak&amp;rdquo; can actually eat away at the weather-sealing gaskets. Give it some space.&#xA;We built these things to take a beating in damp, miserable weather. By keeping the splash out and the fog away, the internals stay dry and your lamps last a whole lot longer.&lt;/p&gt;</description>
