Power, Voltage, and Keeping the Heat Under Control
We design these lamps to deliver consistent heat in a small footprint. Most run at 400V and 2500W, with a tube around 300mm long. That’s not random. The 400V supply keeps current lower for the same power, which eases stress on the lamp head and the machine’s wiring. The 2500W gives you enough heat density to get preforms into the stretch window quickly—without overheating the material. And the 300mm length matches the common heating zone width, so you can swap out a burned-out unit without moving brackets or repositioning reflectors. But there’s a trade-off: that concentrated heat needs proper cooling. If the machine’s airflow or cooling isn’t up to the task, the lamp runs hotter—and the nearby electronics take a beating.
What’s Inside: Halogen, Quartz, Coating, and the R7s Connection
Inside, we use a halogen-filled quartz tube. The halogen cycle helps keep the filament stable and reduces blackening over time, so output stays consistent through the service interval. Quartz handles rapid heating and cooling without cracking under thermal shock—especially during startup and shutdown. The tube is coated to shape the IR spectrum and direct energy toward the preform surface. That coating cuts down wasted heat and improves absorption on PET, so you get faster, more even heating. At the ends, we use R7s connectors—the industry-standard interface for this class of lamp. That means you can wire it in without custom sockets or machining. And the R7s design keeps alignment solid, so the lamp seats squarely and makes consistent contact—no arcing, no spotty heat.
On the Floor: PET Blow Molding Without the Downtime
On the blow molding line, preform temperature has to be right. Too cold, and you get stress and a poor stretch. Too hot, and the material degrades—weak necks, wasted parts. Our IR lamp delivers fast, controllable heat with a stable profile across the heating zone. Because it’s a drop-in replacement in most machines, you can keep spares on the shelf and swap a lamp in minutes instead of waiting for a vendor-specific part.
