Ever notice how traditional convection ovens just… suck the life out of your food? It’s because they spend all their time heating up the air around the meal. By the time the food actually gets hot, it’s usually dry. We do things differently with short-wave infrared (SWIR) bulbs. Instead of fighting with the air, these bulbs go straight for the food. You get a fast, hard sear on the outside that locks the juices in before the middle has a chance to overcook. The secret is in the wavelength. How they’re actually built We use high-purity quartz glass for the tubes. Why? Because these things go from cold to scorching in a heartbeat, and regular glass would just shatter. Inside, there’s a halogen cycle at work. It basically stops the tungsten filament from gunking up the walls of the tube. This keeps the glass crystal clear, so you get the same consistent heat for thousands of hours. When it comes to installing them, it’s pretty painless. They usually come with R7s or SK15 connectors, so you can just pop them in and get back to work. Plus, we’ve got a bunch of different wattage and voltage options to fit whatever power setup your oven is running. A few things to keep in mind Now, these bulbs are powerful. Like, really powerful. Because they hit so hard and so fast, your control system needs to be on point. If your PID controller is acting flaky, you might scorch the top of your food before the heat even reaches the center. Also, give them some breathing room. Make sure your oven housing has enough clearance so the quartz doesn’t overheat. If it gets too hot in there, the filament won’t last nearly as long.
